2006 Cruise News 5/31/06 - We've started our cruise season. We used our rain date for the first cruise and had 40 cars this past weekend. We're working on getting new sponsors for future cruises. Check back often to get the latest updates.
2005 Cruise News Florence Elks wrapped up their cruise on Thursday, Sept 22, 2005. They had extra awards and the Hot Air Balloon ride was given away. The weather was beautiful. They announced plans for a Sock Hop in the Winter. Check back here for details.
8/15/05 - The Manchester Downtown Cruise was a great time on Sunday, August 7, 2005. We've heard rumors there were close to 3000 cars. We got parked near a store front with a couple of trees. We had a couple of new faces join us at Scooters and cruise down to Manchester. The Hooters Cruise was rained out and postponed until August 21. Mark's was also rained out tonight. Mother Nature just likes to beat us up sometimes.
7/25/05 - I'm sorry I haven't posted in a couple of weeks been pushed to the wall with work. To catch up....We went to a show in Simsbury, Ct on July 10. Very nice show. Nicely organized, nice location. We will definitely look for this one next year. We went to the Show last weekend (July 16 & 17) in Norwich, Ct. We went on Saturday to take in the Classic Car Auction. To our disappointment, this was the Import car day not the Cruise/Classic car day. They have many vendors in the flea market section. Indoor facilities and different food choices. We went on Sunday last year and enjoyed it very much. May try that again next year. As far as this weekend past.....We had our cruise:
7/4/05 - I've found a new website with a lot of show information. http://www.ncsr.4t.com Check it out. Let me know if the information was valuable or of your experiences at any of the listed shows. I've been considering adding a discussion forum for opinions/thoughts on area shows/cruises. This would allow observations other than just mine on this website. Use the feedback form to let me know your thoughts on this.
6/27/05 - Roberts Farm The Cars are the Stars - A nice show well attended. Beautiful grounds. Raffles all day. One to look for again next year. WOW Westfield on Weekends - Saturday afternoon. They had about 30 cars on a hot afternoon. Gerry outdid himself on the raffle gifts. Anyone who bought a raffle ticket got at least one prize. Many gift certificates for many Westfield businesses. Mike's Dogs was cooking up a storm. Bobby Arnett won the best of show award. A very unique hand made trophy. It was a great showing for a first time event. We look forward to what Gerry will come up with in the future. Westfield Cruisers - We had our cruise yesterday. We were battling the threat of thunder storms and oppressive heat. We had 31 cars, not bad for a day people would rather be inside with an air conditioner or in a pool. We appreciate all the support from the people who come out.
6/21/05- Red Rock Car Show was a success on Sunday they about 50 cars. The weather was beautiful. Art kept the music trivia and raffles going all day. It was a good time and a nice show. Mark's finally had a real cruise night. They had over 800 cars last night. There are many new enhancements. Many people really like the flag display. There are more vendors and repaired, enhanced pavement. The Mark's crew have been working really hard during the down time. They are all volunteers and it takes a small army to put on the largest cruise in New England.
6/12/05- Topor Dodge Car Show was a go in the heat. They hit 100 cars at about noon, as did the thermometer (or so it felt). They had to compete with Mother Nature as the skies began to rumble at awards time. All came together and they had a great show. Hooters made a desperate effort but the rain did them in and they called the cruise a bust at about 4:30. Thanks to the 4 cars who showed up. They appreciated the support. Their next cruise will be July 10th.
06/06/05- Finally Mark's had their first cruise. Mother Nature refused to cooperate, after the rain stopped, the skies cleared, and the cruise continued. There are a lot of new enhancements, including a nice display of American flags on the winners circle lane. Hopefully, we can now look forward to a nice cruise season.
05/29/05- Finally after too long of a rainy season, we had our second cruise on our second rain date. We had 41 cars in attendance. We are attributing low attendance to having to use our rain date again, the holiday weekend, and the threat of afternoon showers. Mother Nature cooperated until the raffle, she just had to let us know she is still in charge. We had a great time, nice weather, great food from Mike's and good company. Thanks to all who could make it.
05/09/05- The Hooters Cruise was cancelled after our notice was sent. We can hope for better weather next month. Their next cruise is June 12.
05/02/05- Our 2005 cruise season was kicked off yesterday. The weather cooperated with the sun but a brisk wind kept things moving, literally. We had 29 cars in attendance, some new faces and some familiar ones. I looked forward to a Mike’s burger all winter, I wasn’t disappointed. We had some nice raffle gifts, a Gift Certificate from Adrienne’s for a Cheesecake, a Gift Certificate from Golf Acres, Great gifts from Snap-On, and a Wings Party from Hooters. It was a great start to the cruise season.
